What is the little veg patch?
The little veg patch is, quite simply, a one-stop-shop raised vegetable bed. In your delivery is everything you need for a really impressive vegetable patch apart from the plants.
We figured not everyone likes peas. So we leave the choosing to you.
What's included:
• A raised veg bed 120x120cm (4'x4') in a choice of either lovely solid FSC pine handcrafted in Dorset or recycled plastic
• A ready-stitched membrane liner which fits perfectly
• Enough special mix compost to fill it up in handy bags - no massive tonne weight bag plonked on your doorstep to wheelbarrow in, oh no. We also give you a spare bag of compost mix to top up your veg patch over the years if you need to.
• A wooden planting frame which creates 16 growing squares
• A slow release fertiliser to give the plants a really good start

Why we think it's great:
• You don't need a lot of space - in turn, less work!
• No nails or screws needed to put it together
• You don't need to do any digging
• The mix gives a perfect growing medium
• The mix includes vermiculite, a natural mineral which holds water like a sponge
• Raised beds warm up quicker than soil veg beds on the ground which in turn increases the germination of seeds compared to cold soil
• No residual weed seeds in the mix (although you will get weeds! just keep weeding)
• The mixture never becomes compacted, meaning veg can grow smoothly and easily
• Growing veg in squares means it's easier to look after - easier to weed, easier to water, easier to get close to your plants without walking on (and compacting) the soil
